Team WeTheProud Presents: Grand

As to a temporary end on hiatus, lo' and behold, Team WTP has revived itself as Grand.

Simply The Best, Simply Grand.

This post is an official documentation for our first guild banner, and it serves as an establishment towards Grand as the next community name for Team WeTheProud.

[GM] Zokku will no longer be leading the community, and instead [GM] Mudkip will take over.

Grand will feature a drastically unique type of community that uses a similar, but more consolidated "human" approach from WTP, more information to be released in the future.

The best part about being GM is not the power, respect, or the title, it's about being able to grow old with the people you meet, as a family.


It's been a pleasure to serve and play with the Vindictus community for years, but unfortunately we see no potential left for the game. As of today the team has been disbanded, and so, this thread is to inform returning players that the entire community has moved to the Steam/Skype Group. Thank you all for your service and dedication here in WTP. We hope the library of "tip information" gathered in our guild thread will be of use to new players in the future and as a simple part of our legacy here in Vindictus.

Season 2 Episode 2 New Gear/Raids (Pirate Gear/Weapons are Officially Outdated)/Kai and Evie Revamp (New Spells)

Before you invest all your money in Pirate weapons/gear, take note of this.
The new highest dps/def set is now called Noblesse, known as the ultimate set for all characters.
Also, new raid, Executioner

Staff Evie’s revamp will be handled in another developer’s note in the near future.

1.Bow Kai Revamp concept

The first order of business with the revamp was to think on what kind of concept we wanted to work on.
With Lann we went with specializing crits and fury skills, with Fiona we increased the usage of her shields.
And with Kai we decided on ‘fast stacking and consumption of SP’
Yes, this is nothing new and is in the same line with Kai’s original concept, but we believed that developing on this concept would result in a fun playstyle for Kai.

2. Attack Pattern

Let’s first look at the ‘stacking SP quickly’ part. This will be handled with Moving Shot and the new skill that will replace Multi-Shot
Multi-Shot has been changed to Rapid-fire. Instead of spraying out arrows in a cone, it will quickly shoot shots in rapid succession.
The command remains the same, hold down normal attack key to charge up and release the button to fire. Depending on how long you charge, you will shoot 2 or 3 arrows.

But keep in mind that Rapid-fire plays an important role in stacking SP. This is in relation with the new Swiftness buff.
As you know, moving shot with a short bow now can proc Swiftness which temporarily increases moving shot attack speed. This can be stacked up to three times and depending on the number of stacks, the SP gain from Rapid-fire increases.
This will not be as simple as it seems though because if you abuse Rapid-fire too much, you can lose your short Swiftness buff and thus be forced to stack it all over again.
The next thing we want to explain is the ‘Using SP’ part. This will be handled with Steady-fire and Magnum-shot.
First of all, Steady fire is used with a long bow while not moving. In this state the time needed to charge the shot will be decreased by half, the power of the shot increased, can pierce up to two time, and has increased range.
The power of this shot will be in par with other characters’ third of fourth shot when all hits from piercing is added.
With being a powerful ranged attack like this, a penalty is in order. The penalty is that it uses SP. Steady fire will use 100 SP and when you don’t have enough SP, normal longbow shots will be used instead.
Next is Magnum-shot.
Magnum-shot and Steady-fire are now to be used depending on the situation. Magnum-shot can pierce up to four times so when using the same amount of SP, Magnum-shot will be better for targets that can be pierced four times.

Also the charging stages for Magnum-shot has been simplified from 6 to 3 stages and the time to make a full charge has been slightly reduced. The sound and visual effect has been modified as well to make the transition between each stage more noticeable.
So Steady-fire and Magnum-shot will be the choice skills to use when you have SP to dump and all other SP skills are on cooldown.
Most of the active SP skills remain the same. Multi-Sniping [eagle-eye something in the NA version, not sure..] and Arrow Storm are still excellent skills for dealing damage. Bending-shot is still good as ever for handling trash mobs.
Yet Dual-link was admittedly overlooked compared to other skills. One of the problem behind this was because it required the player to aim and fire two times.
This part has been modified to be handled in a single bow shot. A single aim-and-fire will result in the target being pinned to the ground. Not only that but if the monster moves away enough to stretch the line too much, it will be electrocuted for steady damage.
So Dual-link is now a skill for impairing movement and dealing damage at the same time. Note that this can also be used in PvP and will hold down a player for 6 seconds.

3. Other Changes

With all these changes it can be expected that Kai will be required to switch bows often. And this is also another aspect that we improved.
Bow switching can now be used while evading and you can switch bows while evading as well.
For example, you can use your short bow then evade while switching to longbow and cancel that motion to go right in to casting Magnum-shot. Or you can be using your long bow and when a monster approaches, you can evade and switch your bow simultaneously to execute a spin-kick.
So now you can attack and switch between bows freely and create your own unique attack patterns.
Besides that, Spin-kick no longer requires SP to use and the range for shortbow has been increased to 600.
The motion for installing the pin for wire-evasion can be canceled with an evasion and the damage, range, stamina use for bow attacks have been adjusted.
Most importantly, playstyles abusing motion canceling have been fixed. We will release more details in the patch notes.

4.Final Word

Though there wasn’t any big influx of new skills or new actions, we believe that we made Kai a more functional and fun character with more room to control.
We also promise that there will be more big or small adjustments to characters in the future

GSL 1.010 4/12 Update

Checkbox updated GSL to 1.010.  This version is supposed to be full proof and last longer than the last version.  Using the GSLTweak, the user still needs to drag rasadhlp.dll to GSLTweak every once in a while to change the hexcode, or generally just to make it harder for hackshield to detect it.

The other day, I encountered a hack message detected using 1.009, so hopefully this version has solved the problem.

GSL April 4 Update

Apparently, F is detected (Hasn't been detected for me yet), and so Checkbox updated his GSL to a version that also includes a side tool called a GSLTweaker.  
It's a small .exe file that allows the .DLL file to become undetected (or at least this should be the case).

At the same link, same post (Page 8), download the April 4 Version, and the tweak.

Grab the .DLL and drag it into the .exe.  The procedure should give you a notification saying, Success!

After this, the .DLL should not be detected anymore.

Dungeon Fighters Shutting Down (I TOLD YOU SO!)

The crappiest game in Nexon's history has finally shut down.  Next, Vindictus. GG WP.

Dear Dungeon Fighters,

In 2009, Nexon America was proud to release one of Nexon’s unique and most popular titles, Dungeon Fighter Online (DFO). Since the launch, Neople’s development team and Nexon America’s publishing team partnered to bring to you the action packed promise of DFO.

For more than three years, our teams worked hard in hopes of building a strong community through new content updates, service fixes, and events. We tirelessly battled hackers and farmers. We even had the honor of presenting the game to you at E3 and PAX. However, Dungeon Fighter Online was not able to grow beyond its very special and proud core following.

Sadly, Dungeon Fighter Online has not attracted enough player interest to properly service the game. Internally, we struggled deeply with the popularity of DFO in North America as the title is immensely popular overseas. For more than three years, we went through many milestones and several pushes before we came to this very difficult decision.

We sincerely regret to inform you that we will be bringing Nexon America’s service of DFO to an end.

We understand that many of you will be disappointed by this news. We hope that the game represents some of your great gaming memories. You have made new friends, created awesome characters, picked up some epic loot, and recorded some unforgettable victories. We, too, have loved working on this game, and learned a lot through our relationship with DFO.

A ramp-down of the game will begin on April 11, 2013, with the closing of the cash shop. Full service will discontinue on June 13, 2013.

We will compensate players for the purchase of unused or partially-used Permanent and Durational items purchased within the past six months. The dollar value is correlated with the time of purchase, the status of the item, etc.. More information regarding compensation can be found here.

Working on DFO during the past three years has been an honor, and we thank all of you Dungeon Fighters for joining us on this exciting journey.

Just google KR voices, extract the folder "data" and put it into your nexon NA folder.

Character Revamp April


A more powerful Dualsword Lann
The central element of Lann gameplay is crit.
But it is becoming increasingly difficult for Lanns to use Gliding Fury or Lightning Fury due to the increasing amount of crit resistance monsters are getting. Lann’s revamp will be centered around improving his crit chances.
This will mainly be done with Thousand Needles.
Now as a separate skill, Thousand Needle will increase crit chance for each hit that connects [capped at 10%]
So this skill will be needed to be used when the target shows an opening to fully utilize the crit buff and when Lann scores a crit, an additional effect will be added to this buff which improves Fury skills.
Skills effected by this extra buff are Gliding Fury, Lightning Fury, and Fury 7.
Lann’s most powerful skill, Fury 7 will also be improved.
It has been said often that it’s hard to aim all seven hits. Which is why the skill will auto-aim the closest target when no direction is input.
Also, Fury 7′s first hit will cause monsters with super-armor to flinch which will give it some tactical value as well. [The wording on how super-armor targets will be effected is very confusing so I just translated based on the context]
Evasion will also become more easier. More precisely, rank 6 slip dash’s invulnerability frame will be increased from 0.33 seconds to around 0.5 seconds.
Windmill will also get invulnerability frames and will cover a wider radius. So no more deaths from using Windmill by mistake.
The final stuff that will be added are skills for all of Lann’s smashes. This included spear smashes and give the players a choice in improving smashes based on their choice.
We expect the first revamp to be updated on the test server within this month and it will come with overall changes to characters such as increasing the skill rank cap to rank 3 for a total of sixteen skills [which include Combat Respiration, Strength Master, Critical Hit, and more]
Characters will also be invulnerable while they are knocked down by normal attacks because they were being a bigger threat than was intended.

Fiona, flashy counters and the best survivability.
Fiona gameplay these days are centered around only using a few select smashes with the highest efficiency and faulty survivability due to the increase of un-blockable attacks. This is why shields have been improved. Our goal here was not only  to improve shields but to make the role of large shields and small shields more distinct.
Small shields are being overlooked as attacks in higher level battles are mainly set as smashes. Now with the revamp, smashes can be countered with perfect gaurd. So now a monster that mainly use smashes can be knocked down with Counter Attack.
Heavy Stander Counter and Down Counter will also be changed with this change to Counter Attack. These two skills originally used too much stamina compared to their low damage. The revamp will lower the stam consumption of these two skills, buff their damage and allow them to be aimed freely.
Large shield will also be receiving some love. Un-blockable attacks can now be blocked with Perfect Heavy Stander.

Perfect Heavy Stander is similar with Perfect Gaurd. It can be used when Heavy Stander is timed correctly. This will allow skilled players to survive through attacks that were a big pain in the ass for Fionas.
One thing to note though is that Perfect Heavy Stander only works for attacks that are deemed difficult for Fionas to avoid [Sigrint's lightning, Keaghan's explosions]
Attacks with specific methods to deal with will still be un-blockable even with Perfect Heavy Stander. One example would be Thor’s electric shock.
Another change to large shield is the new skill Taunt.
Taunt will cause enemies around the Fiona to attack her. This will work well to negate the lack of mobility which large shield Fionas suffer from.
This skill will allow instances where a Fiona can rescue a party member in danger and further contribute to Fiona’s gameplay concept of requiring the right reaction at the right time.
One more thing that we addressed is the issue with shield breaking. Having shields break was a stressful aspect for Fiona’s but one that also added to the tension.
The revamp for small shield Fionas was to increase Counter Attack usage but shield durability is a direct obstacle to this directive since Counter Attack depletes a large amount of durability from shields and this in turn would cause players to be less inclined to use Counter Attack.
This is why Counter Attack will no longer take down the durability of shields. But as mentioned above, we didn’t want to completely remove the tension added from this feature. Which is why we decided to remove the bonus concerning shield durability from the skills Gaurd and Heavy Stander.
We are expecting small shields to break once or twice in average for each battle after this change.
On the other hand, large shields are designed for survival. Having a large shield break is a critical threat for a Fiona player. So large shields have been changed to be indestructible. This will further fix large shield’s role as a survivalist.

A single hit should do. Longhammer.
Longhammer’s concept was it’s slow speed but high damage.
But the current Longhammer lost it’s touch due to it’s hit recoil being removed, attack speed increase yet weak damage. This is why the revamp for hammers was aimed towards reviving its feeling of impact by reviving the hit recoil and increasing damage to compensate for loss of speed.

The main example here would be Longhammer’s fourth smash, Stigma Hammer.
Stigma Hammer’s full charge is now the single highest damage dealer out of all existing smashes. The difficulty to charge up has been addressed by giving super-armor status after the second charge. Not only that but a full charged Stigma Hammer can cause enemies with super-armor to flinch [again, same case as the explanation on Fury7. weird wording so I just went by what it seems to say by context]
Other changes to Fiona include improving the hitboxes for Longsword and adding a skill for Longhammer’s second smash and more overall changes.



Karok, stronger than ever
Blaster[Cestus in NA, I just can't get myself to call it that] Karok has a fun playstyle but its damage was always considered to be sub-par. Which is why Blaster smashes and certain skills will receive improved damage from this update.
Another problem for Blaster is that Burst Gauges are difficult to handle without having an enemy constantly attacking. This is why the new skill, Charging Burst, will be added. Blaster Karoks will be able to stack Burst Gauges by themselves with this skill.

Karok’s most unique feature is his Boss Clash. But it was hard to use due to boss patterns that can be clashed being used too sparsely or its timing being too strict.
The old method can still be used after the update but it can also be used to prepare for an attack like how Fiona’s gaurd works. So a Karok will be able to stand next to a boss when it shows sign of using a clashable attack and stand-by for the incoming attack. The clash will automatically succeed when when the attack hits him. This will greatly reduce the difficulty of using Boss Clash.
Karok’s survival skills have also been changed by adding Perfect Absorb and Perfect Weaving.
You might have already aught up to it by its name but this is the same concept as Fiona’s Perfect Heavy Stander. The first action of Karok’s evasion will be able to proc Perfect Absorb or Weaving which can block un-blockable attacks.
And last but not least, a new skill Shouting will be added. This is similar to Fiona’s Taunt skill but with the added function of causing a boss with a clash motion to use that certain motion which can lead to a boss clash and further contribute to the party.

Other changes include improving the damage of Big Bang Attack and adding smash skills for Blaster and Pillar.


Some small tweaks for Kai
A glitch that causes a Kai on the move to fire Shortbow arrows was recently fixed since it was not an intended feature by the developers. But this was something that players had come to relate as to as a feature of Kai gameplay. This is why we looked for a way to address this situation while removing unintended glitches.
The new skill Moving Shot will be added for this purpose. Moving Shot has a chance to proc while a Kai fires Shortbow arrows while moving. This effect will increase Kai’s attack and movement speed.
Additionally, the developers are aware of emote canceling and 0stam canceling. Sicne these are also unintended, it has been decided to remove thses glitches but other changes will be added like above to keep Kai at an even level.
Please keep in mind that this is not the final update for Bow Kai and more will come during the second update.

March Update

Hi guys, another huge content patch by our fellow Korean overlords who have successfully taken over NA management.

This post is to prioritize what news is actually important and to filter out what other nonsense we don't really care about or need regarding the game.  It's as the order follows:

1. All Season 2 Missions, including Raids have been nerfed.  Season 2 missions are now available for Dailies, but Nexon probably lowered their stats because the raids and missions were too hard.  Hopefully, this means prices will drop because items are easier to get and players will finally be able to tryout content without having to buy +13-15 weapons.

2. Stats are officially pay2win.  Nexon has introduced "Outfits" where players can equip a new Outfit in their Avatar Tab, which is completely optional for visibility.  Here's how it works.
A. You have your basic armor, weapons, accessories in the inventory tab.  These stats will be permanent and show to all players.
B. You have your Avatar tab, with a tab that says Outfit.  Here, you can equip various outfit parts or an entire set such as Vampire, which grants 350 ATT based on all 5 parts.  Additionally, it grants 150 ATT as a set bonus, so you will receive 500 ATT total.
When both parts combine, you will be wearing two layers of armor, A, and B.  B is optional to show and hide, just click on the Eye icon on the top right.
Oh, and all parts are permanent.

3. Preferred Channels.  You can now select a default channel to switch to when you're logging in.  I expect all members to have their default set to 53, otherwise you will face severe sexual punishment.

4. Practice Raid Modes.   This is a new sandbox feature that Nexon allows players to simply just play a raid for fun.  You do not gain any experience or rewards, and you do not use up your raid once a day.

5. No more snow town.  Am sad.

6. Haven't tested this out yet, but apparently infinite feathers are no longer possible, and you Glas Ghabsdfbasdlfibasldf no longer allows 1 chainer to breakoff.  He should require 2 now.

7. Nobody cares about crossgun.

Team WeTheProud Status Update March

Hey guys, Happy 1st of March.

It's been a while since I did a status update for the team, so here's our monthly newsfeed and updates.

1. Transition from Guild to Team, Plan Sucksexful
As most of you should know, WTP is no longer Guild WeTheProud, but Team WeTheProud.  Despite the e-peen level up and useless community name change, this is to prioritize our goals from a guild to a team.
This means the following changes should and will continue to occur in the future:
A. Team members will be limited.  Slots will no longer be open for just anyone, we'll require interviews
B. Numbers are inflated and should be kept at a minimum.  In our previous management strategies, we learned a very hard lesson that big numbers are never good, unless you have the proper resources to handle it.  For the most part, and about 90% of the time, this is still a difficult task to pull off.  Thus, our numbers will be kept at a minimum (Nexon's max is 200 per guild)
C. Activity.  A lot of our members have retired and moved on to other games, life issues, school, etc.  In reference to B, this means that team members should expect online numbers to be low (5-10 a day).
Note that although there are few members online, we're choosing quality of players over quantity.
D. Leadership.  I've already announced my retirement, but this does not mean I will abandon my leadership.  Despite my constant annoyance and 10 year old sexual sexting, I will still maintain my leadership abilities and establish the fundamental team goals and policies.

2. Events
We haven't done team-related events in ages, but this is due to the fact that we've practically used and executed every single event idea out there.  Rather than planning for events, I believe it would be more strategical to focus on our team's main goal.

3. Skype/Steam
This is a message forwarded to new Team members that read this blog message.  Our main means of communication is Skype and Steam, you can find old members as well as Zokku in Skype/Steam.

4. Season 2 Episode 2
The recent sudden changes by Nexon proves that Korean management has officially taken over or at least focused on some heavy changes for Vindictus NA (Front page, tons of events, server migration, ninja patches etc.)
However, due to the sudden influx of events, it's very disappointing to predict that Season 2 Episode 2 will not be released in March.  Wait until April guys.

5. Team Goals
Our transition to Guild to Team means one thing.  We're going to focus on the quality of the game, along with team members who can appreciate its quality, while establishing a fundamental core of raiding, trading, game discussions, etc.  Before, our main goal was to create a large community in order to have tons of guild-related activities open, but this was extremely hectic and immediately followed up with terrible consequences.  As a result, we're going to try a different approach, where we're going to establish a smaller community and create some form of a "Kickback" community.  Just play the game and have fun, that's all.  In other words, we're going to rely on Nexon for the events, not the team.

6. Admins
Many of you have already requested to become Administrator for the team.  Let me say now that Administrators are completely unnecessary in our new team changes.  If you read the following above, you should know precisely why admins are completely unnecessary.  However, if this is in regards to aiding with recruiting, then by all means, message Zokku for this response.  Currently, Vic is the only active admin.

7. Blogspot Changes
Seeing as how Skype and Steam are more readily used by the Team, I've decided to remove Scribblar. Although it has its practical purposes, it simply wastes too much space on the blogspot.  I will still have the link available to the right tool side, but generally, Scribblar is an unnecessary tool we no longer use.  If you wish to view my lovely drawings, refer to www.emikame.deviantart.com

The Koreans Have Tak-

This is inconceivable, it should have taken the NA staff to make a front page like this 20 years.  No wait, 200 years, I apologize for the typo.  There can only be one answer to this..the Koreans.

The quality boost coupon apparently has a chance to increase your item's quality, but it also has the chance to fail and lose dura.  Kai's Second Weapon means that this isn't going to be an Episode 2 Season 2 update.  Rather, it's just an addition of a weapon, no new content storywise.  What a disappointment :(  Looks like we're not getting Season 2 Episode 2 until April.  Stay tuned till next year folks.

S2 Episode 2 Updated Trailer

Vella's 2nd Weapon, Dual Chains were released in Test KR Server.  I believe the update should be live soon if not now in KR.
As you all already know, Kai receives the Crossbow Gun, which is supposed to be the fastest dps in the game, but at the cost of its damage output.

After the January Update, here's my OP of class balances.
1. Spear Lann's Jump bug was fixed, he can now proc gliding fury after a CRT in jump.
2. Scythe Evie is "supposed" to be the 2nd highest dps in the game now if "snaps" are stacked properly.
3. Staff Evie obtained a higher dps with the cost of # of arrows, 3 -->1
4. Sword Lann recieved a cool skill, but its dps is very low and is considered useless due to the delay.
5. Kai gets nothing for once.  This is not balanced, he needs a nerf.  
6. Vella is still the hottest hype, no balance changes.

That's it.  If you're curious why I didn't mention Karok, it's because nobody cares or plays Karok.

January Update

I feel as if the patch notes aren't even worth posting anymore.
Here's something more useful, an AP calculator for blown up items/weapons.

Base cost is 1000 AP. Each change adds the following to the AP cost:
If it is fused = +2000
If it's a weapon = +10,000

Level:
Lvl 20-39 = +500
Lvl 40-49 = +1000
Lvl 50-59 = +2500
Lvl 60-69 = +4500
Lvl 70-79 = +6500
Lvl 80 = +9500

Quality:
3* = +1000
4* = +1000
5* = +2000

Enchantment:
r9 scroll = +1000 per

Enhancement: 
+9 = +500
+10 = +1500
+11 = +4500
+12 = +7500
+13 = +12500
+14 = +19500
+15 = +30500
